February 13th 2022: Our discussion revolved around the films “Capernaum” and “Intern.”


March 15th 2022: The Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union and the School of Social Work extended an invitation to an extensive online discussion on “Success Stories of Social Workers” on the Google Meet platform on 15.03.2022 at 20:00. The discussion featured the active participation of our social workers, including Aysel Orujova, Lamiya Rzayeva-Ahmedli, Tamilla Alizade, and Sanan Agayev. Nilufar Mammadova served as the moderator for the session. We gratefully appreciate everyone who participated in this insightful conversation.
April 9th 2022: The Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union organised a webinar on “Types and Victims of Violence” on April 9 at 10:00 Baku time. Our distinguished guest for the session was Aytekin Huseynova, the founder of the Center for Research, Training, and Programs on Violence Against Children at the University of Washington. Aytekin Huseynova also serves as the head and founder of the board of the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union.


29th of May – 4th of June: From May 29 to June 4, an insightful discussion on the topic of “Violence in the Family and Social Work” took place through collaboration between the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union and the Brown School of Social Work and Public Health at the University of Washington. This engaging event was conducted in a hybrid format, blending physical presence at Caspian Plaza with virtual participation via Zoom.
June 19th 2022: The Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union organised an insightful new webinar for its numerous members and volunteers, featuring Dudu Akmaz as the speaker.


July 3rd 2022: The Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union announced a seminar that took place on July 3 at 13:00 at Caspian Plaza. The thoughtful seminar centered around “Psychiatric Social Work” and was presented by Elvin Abdullayev. We appreciate everyone who participated in this insightful session.
14th – 17th of July 2022: A 2-day training program on “The Role of Social Workers in Child Development Services” was conducted through the collaborative efforts of the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union and the Goygol regional branch of the State Committee on Family, Women, and Children’s Problems.


July 17th 2022: The Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union organised a new webinar for its members and volunteers, featuring Aysel Allahverdiyeva as the speaker.
July 23rd 2022: With the support of the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union, we successfully introduced the “Living Library” project, originally created in Denmark, to Azerbaijan for the first time.


August 13th 2022: The “Social Work with Children (Child Abuse)” training, organised by the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union, took place on August 13 at 20:00. The session was presented by Sevinj Samadzadeh.
September – November 2022: As a family within AZSİIB (AZSWPU), we are pleased to announce the successful completion of the project “Organization of Social Work with Persons Subjected to Gender-Based Violence.” This initiative was implemented with the generous financial support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations.


October 2022: The Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union represented Azerbaijan at the 2021-2022 annual meeting of the International Federation of Social Workers. Co-founder Aytekin Huseyli and Executive Director of the Public Union Sanan Agayev also served as members of the board of the organization.
November 11th 2022: On November 11, the Board members of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum convened for a meeting with Mr. Peter Michalko, the head of the European Union Baku representation. Sabina Rustamova-Aliyeva, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union, actively participated in the discussions during the meeting.


December 9th 2022: The Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union held a seminar on “Sex and Society,” presented by Farrukh Huseynov.
