From significant conferences and seminars to active participation in international assemblies, the year unfolded with a myriad of experiences and achievements. February 13th 2023: The Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union was pleased to extend a warm invitation to our esteemed supporter, Ida Lindahl, and Bosse Rundberg for an enlightening webinar. This platform aimed to provide young individuals with valuable insights into the intricate mechanisms of social work in Sweden.
April 1st 2023: As a team from AZSIIB, we organised the contemplative seminar by the name of “Diversity, Justice and Inclusiveness” to significantly enhance our understanding of the importance of the topic. The seminar featured contributions from guests Aytekin Huseynli, Myrna McNitt, Sanan Agayev, and Elnur Musayev, collectively offering diverse perspectives and insights on these crucial themes.


April 8th 2023: Our interesting seminar was conducted under the title ’emphasising and highlighting the significance of inclusion in society’. The distinguished speaker for the event was Orkhan Adigozel who gave a comprehensive overview of the issues at hand.
May 7th 2023: Our next live broadcast of “Does a social worker abroad have bread?” took place on May 7th at 20:00. During the thought-provoking broadcast, we engaged in a lively discussion on the topic with a study abroad consultant.


June 23rd 2023: On this day, the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union happily received an invitation to participate in a job fair. On the same day, we attended the fair to connect and expand our reach with the inaugural graduates of social work from Baku Business University, aiming to engage them in practical experiences within our organisation.
July 2nd 2023: During the summer we pondered; “In what cases should a social worker refer to a psychologist?” This question was explored and determined in the presentation by Ayşan Bayramova, organised by the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union.


July 29th 2023: Amalya Sezgin and Aytekin Huseynli, discussed in detail the topic of Children’s Intellectual Development.
August 4th 2023: Both Aytekin Huseynli and Ulviyya Mirzayeva, members of the management board of the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union, organised discussions on their Instagram account with experts in the field of child welfare protection.


25th-27th of August 2023: The esteemed “2nd Development and Exchange Program of NGOs,” organised by the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organisations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, took place in Naftalan. Our direct representation at the event was led by the Executive Director of the Union, Ragsana Nasibova.
September 8th 2023: Tural Mirzayev, deputy chairman of the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union, and Ragsana Nasibova, executive director, attended the conference on “DOST 2023: a single platform for providing flexible, innovative, and sustainable services.” The conference was organised by the Sustainable and Operative Social Security (DOST) Agency.


October 24th 2023: On this day, a conference on “European Union-Azerbaijan Relations in the New Eastern Partnership Policy” was greatly organised by the Azerbaijan National Platform of the European Union Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum. Delightfully, our representatives Sabina Rustamova-Aliyeva, the chairwoman of the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union, and Tural Mirzayev, the deputy chairman, actively participated in the conference.
November 1st 2023: We were thrilled to have our chairman, Sabina Rustamova-Aliyeva, and Board of Directors member, Sanan Aghayev, at ADA University. During their visit, they shared their perspectives on social work, discussed our impactful projects, and highlighted the significance of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) in nonprofit management.


14th-16th of November 2023: Sabina Rustamova-Aliyeva, the Chairperson of the Azerbaijan Social Work Public Union, participated in the 15th Annual Assembly of the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum held in Brussels on November 14-16, 2023.
November 17th 2023: A gripping seminar titled “Today and the Future of Social Work in Azerbaijan: Organisation of the Social Work Profession” was conducted at Baku Business University by Aytekin Huseynli, a researcher and educator affiliated with Washington University and an international social worker.
